Dear Jenni.
Wow! You are fast. Thanks for responding. I am used to having
to wait for any news. A word of intro to the group and in answer
to your question <What flavour of "European high magic"?> am I in
versed in. Hope this serves!?! ;-)
About me. I'm a few weeks away from "The big 30", have a Capricorn
sun, Taurian moon and Gemini Asc. I was born in Pretoria, South
Africa on 22nd Dec. 1966. I currently live in Johannesburg.
I have an above average IQ and an under average EQ, and a very
auditory spelling stratergy (I therefore spell poorly - no future
apologies - Okay!)
I have been interested in psychology from my early 20's. About 4
years ago I was introduced to Gestalt therapy through an "I AM"
type course. This lead to an interest in more popular pop-
psychology like T.A, Maslow, etc. and later behavioral psychology
like NLP, DHE, NAC and NSR. I'm a master NLP practitioner.
Vocationally I work in the computer networking field as a consultant.
I'm working towards NLP managemant training.
I too have a core memory of abandonment, and have abopted my mothers
alchoholic substance (ab)use patterns (I do food like she does drink)
and my fathers work-aholic behavior. Up until now NLP has been the
only effective therapy for me, but I'm still only working on surface
issues and my life metaphor. My "rotten apple" has transformed itself
into a seed which is growing into a kabbalistic tree. This is a
powerful reframe for a mystic! Others may find angels, etc. more
workable.
I belong to a local mystical group. No grey or black magic allowed.
My interest has drawn me to a study in local "lemurian" magic and
Golden Dawn ritual working. I'm therefore not really a practicing
magician. I do however perform regular psychic protection rituals
on myself. I've also studied Wiccan magic and other works like Levi,
Aggripa and Crowley, etc. I agree with the idea of a large variety
to draw from.
My other interests include brain physiology and the work being done
in the relationship between conscious and other-than-conscious
scientific fields, and advanced learning stratergies (photo-reading, trance
work, etc.).
I believe in being clean in body, mind and spirit. I really loved your
point that <... and nothing I take away sticks to me accidently.>
I felt the need to intoduce myself to the group at large and having done that
offer, If you wish, to take the magical talk back to a
one-on-one where I'll feel safer.
As for the work you're doing in relation to NLP, your metaphors and
overall work ethic is both congruent and beautiful. Thanks again for
sharing these with us.
