That is an interesting way to look at the formation of addiction, and
another reason why people become addicted. I often wonder about this too.
Your idea about MPD being a reason is one that I have never heard
connected to addictions. I have had a few clients that have presented MPD
characteristics and when I think about them, it did seem that their use of
drugs brought the personalities together. Hmmmmmm. I shall give this
more thought. I wonder why some people become addicted so quickly. They
seem to be addicted almost upon their first encounter with drugs or
alcohol. One client told me that his world went from being shades of grey
to brilliant colours when he drank. If we could find the key that would
unlock the secret of addiction so many people might not have to suffer.
