Dear Hakan,
Your post had touched me deeply. I do admire people like you so dedicated to
ours teenagers. I am really frustrated to not be able to help you more. But
I do have some question that could clarify why some of yours students got
the meaning of yours metaphor and others not;

1- Are you telling those stories using all the three most used
representative systems: visual, auditive and kinetic system?

2- Had you tried to discovered the process by which they got their phobias
or the others problems you had cited here?

3- Did you tried to use a very popular game they love to play named RPG
(role-playing games)? I think the rules of this game could be very well
adapted to NPL techniques or strategies. If yours students trust you very
much, you could play the master role and use it to work on their difficulties.

Those question just came to my mind while I was reading yours post. I am not
a specialist in NPL. I had studied almost all the NPL books and I love to
test many of its techniques with my friends when they are in troubles and in
myself. Fortunately I am not failing! : )

Forgive me if what I am asking here seems too simple.
Love and all my respect to yours work.
