Both remarks concern the same idea. I refer to the following quote

Imagine, instead of religion: 'humanism' ... or teaching 'Imperial court
etiquette'... or 'good table-manners'... It wouldn't have made much difference
if done by the same people with the same attitudes and so on. It may have been
unbearable and unbendable dogma founded on fear and threat all the same.
Imagine
that it wasn't the content but the form. Imagine that it was the 'spark of
creativity and life' that was hard to handle for them. In other words: a
child's
independence of mind that was hard to manage by those adults within that given
frame of mind.
