Hello Joel,
I associated "trance" with "alpha state" when I was working with subliminal
tapes. My tapes had some visualization exercises which could put you into a
relaxed state, almost short of sleeping. The idea was to lower the
consciousness's defenses so that the self-help suggestions would embed
themselves more readily in the subconscious. However, I have to yet confirm
what exactly a trance is.
I used to have a screw-on strobe light attached near my bed. I'd adjust the
flicker rate to something that I can describe as "very soothing" and then
lie on my bed. Wow...I can really go into lucid dreaming with that simple
device.
This area of study is so exciting. However, I sometimes don't read my
nlptalk mail because the discussions are just too technical already for me.
