Very interesting idea! I decided to try it out on myself.
As I am a fairly new golfer who is not yet very good, I thought
this would be a safe subject for the experiment.
One of the things I've been doing to try to improve my game is
to try to reproduce good shots. What a brilliant idea. The problem
is that it's not so easy to do. Anyone who's tried golf will fully
agree. What I've been doing is recall the good shot as vividly
as possible, with all the V's, A's, and K's. The problem is that
when I attempt the next shot, my counscious mind is right in the
middle of everything interfering. Result - a bad shot.
So, for the experiment, I recalled a good shot, ran it backwards
in fast reverse, while doing rapid saccadic eye movements from side
to side. At the same time, I rapidly recited a mantra which is
essentially untranslatable into English. I did this several times,
over and over, until I was tired. It produced an interesting feeling.
The test will be later today when I go out on the course. I will
report on my findings.
