Re: Fast Phobia/trauma cure
Further to the recent description of the phobia cure, I thought I'd quickly
relate that there's a variant of this that can be used for healing physical
trauma. This however is an anecdote example of the impact rather than a
description of how to do it.
While skiing in Feb this year my wife damaged her knee and had to be flown home
in a legbrace with crutches (the rest of us had a 20 hour coach ride). The
Austria specialist diagnosed her as just short of separating the cruciate
ligaments ("doing a Gazza" in the UK) but with a severe something or other that
would have her hobbling around under the care of a specialist for several
weeks.
Being the lady she is, on her return to the UK she nonetheless took herself
straight off to the NLP Health Certification training she's working through,
crutches, brace & all. I don't know whether she was seized on by the group as
a subject or whether it "just happened" but they took her through something
similar in structure to the phobia cure, effectively got the learnings of what
she should have done on the slopes and deleted (?) / removed physical impact
the incident. Net result was that at the end of the weekend module she nearly
forgot to collect her crutches from the store cupboard!
She never did see a UK doctor about it - which gave me a little worry with the
insurance claim, since she left Austria on the Friday unable to put her foot on
the ground and was walking on it by Sunday evening (about six weeks before she
"should" have been). This has the classic feel of the phobia cure - ie after
the event it's not apparent what all the fuss was about beforehand.
Seems the key may be that her unconscious/body was hanging on to the
injury/pain or using it as a means of getting her to understand what she could
have done better at the time.
