Well, I thought this might be useful one day, so I avoided deleting it!
Thank you Jerome, Ed and others who stirred this up. Thanks Bernard for
the recipe.
Last month I was worrying, in a relaxed way as befits an old salt,
about someone near to me who has been playing with the idea of suicide.
There being no one in NLP to talk to, I went to see a deeply religious
person who spends all her time off at the Mahikari Temple. They are
ecumenical - accepting of all religions and philosophies - I will check
them out on NLP next week.
As it was my first visit to Mahikari in practice, I was given an
introduction to a priest and invited to close my eyes for a mantra and
ten
minutes of meditation. A couple of seconds after the mantra started, I
thought - trance - and off I went. Thinking about what the hell to do
with someone who is talking about suicide I decided to install the
'Warning Machine' as posted by Bernard; why waste a free deep trance?
Three great liars: no problem, lots to choose from, including the
condition that I did not know that they were lying at the time. Great
bells and gongs in Japan - installed different tones for different
styles of liar.
Three great truth tellers that I did not know were being truthful at
the time: somewhat more head scratching, but I got them. Forgot the
conscious elicitation of accompanying sub-modalities, being unconscious
I must have got them in unconsciously.
At the concluding mantra and bid to 'open my eyes' it took a few
seconds to come back to this world. They must have thought that they had
found a man of god. Then I got a spiritual massage that was interesting.
On to meeting the suicide. When she started her act I realised that at
this stage of the game that was just what it was: an act to control me.
Beyond frustration and boredom I felt little emotion with the entire
performance, though it went on half an evening and for two hours the
next day. She got her mother to sign a will giving her a fair share and
the act subsided. There were no gongs, just a clear realisation of the
manipulation. I'm going back to Mahikari to install the gongs properly -
I love the sound!
I didn't know just what to say, so I said 'No, I will not help you kill
yourself.' You want dinner and a piece of paper to write to your
children, OK; but kill yourself, I will not help.' A few more things
said deliberately to make her angry with me and she could not kill
herself, she went external; angry and complaining - blaming. Still no
emotion on my part - a good understanding of what was going on, instead.
I was able to plan what to tell her children to protect them and help
them forestall difficult consequences. Scream, drop a bowl of soup, race
out of the house and go see a movie because the pattern will have been
broken. Role play the scene with an NLP counsellor at school, first.
This was a big difference to two weeks earlier, when I got very
emotional. Good Warning Machine, Bernard. I must do a DHE course next
Summer with earnings from my business.
Now to find someone who does NLP or DHE in Japanese in case she accepts
an offer for help. I have drawn a complete blank in Japan looking for
somebody up to trainer standard who practices therapy. Everybody seems
to use NLP for teaching, industrial & business training. No life saving.
