Jobet,
I think that IQ tests are a good indicator as to your effectiveness at
completing IQ tests, not much else.
I believe (the following is based purely on personal observation) that there
are
different types of intelligence:
Some people are good at finding their way around and almost never get lost and
therefore appear to have a ''spatial'' intelligence. (I really envy these
people and any suggestions as to how I might instil a 'sense of direction'
within myself would be most welcome.)
Conceptual intelligence - where people can easily conceptualise and model
events
and objects in their own minds.
Creative intelligence - the ability to 'map' abstractions from one area of
expertise onto another and come up with something new.
I could go on, but as I have said, these are purely subjective observations and
I am probably babbling incoherently about a subject which is well researched
and
documented (so what - it's fun).
Anyway, my point is that I am sure that NLP has helped me think more creatively
and clearly about all sorts of things - whether that means I could more
effectively complete an IQ test, I really don't know...
Anyway, thanks for giving me the opportunity to contribute for the first time
in
about 3 months - your message made me think (probably increasing my IQ - but
that's another story).
