NLP has a lot to offer in terms of raising the levels of mental abilities.
I'm not convinced that IQ is the best thing to measure, being good at those
silly questions is only one (of many) ways of evaluating someone's
capabilities.
What really counts are the abilities to learn, remember, recall, understand
and enjoy.
Using NLP techniques such as "the circle of excellence", learners can
create states of peak enjoyment, which boosts memory and recall. Various
techniques and exercises can be used to remove or change limiting beliefs.
I'd thoroughly recommend three books (I'd recommend more but I haven't got
the references to hand):
"Using Your Brain For A Change" - by Richard Bandler. Real People Press.
ISBN 0-91126-27-3
This details various NLP techniques such as the swish pattern and how they
can be used to remove limiting beliefs and improve learning.
"Awaken The Genius" - by Patrick K Porter. Purelight Publishing. ISBN
0-9637611-8-8
All sorts of enlightening ways of improving learning skills.
"Emotional Intelligence" - by Daniel Goleman. Bloomsbury Publishing. ISBN
0-7475-2622-2
A fascinating book on the roles our emotions play in intelligence. If you
thought IQ was simply about intellect then this will change your mind - for
the best.
