past lives?
"When I got to the seminar it turned out to be a past life gig. Personally
I have a hard time believing in past life stuff cause everyone who goes back
to check on a past life seems to have lived a really interesting life as a
wizard or Cleopatra. Where the hell are all the the people who did
the work?"
Yeh, that really bugs me too
I got heavily into past life stuff years and years ago, ouija boards
and other strange stuff
I got trained in past life therapy for a while by a woman that was
the past life counsellor for Prince Charles
beleive this if you will
strange things go on out in the wilds of Dorset!
Anyhow, very quickly I thought, how come there's so many famous
people, this feels very much like
WISH FULFILLMENT
to me!
Personally I think - hey past lives, why not, almost makes sense on a
quantum level (referring to Time, Space and Medicine by Larry Dossey
MD, rather than Q Healing), you know, energy never dies, only changes
form
However I can't say if the huge amounts of past life recall I had
were anything more than personal metaphor
the point that is valid and fascinating is that my mind made up
complex and contextually realistic stories, showing at the least a
massive pool of creativity that could be tapped
Of the 53 or so lives I documented to any degree, the closest thing
to a famous person was a rear gunner on a Luftwaffe Stuka dive bomber
in World War 2 I got these incredibly vivid flashbacks(?) to bailing
out of a burning plane, and wandering round a bombed out airfield
feeling totally disillusioned and betrayed because the third reich
had failed to make a new world order!
When we were channelling this life (I worked in a psychic group) as
details began to emerge the first thing I latched onto was being a
British fighter pilot, I reckon very much that the conscious mind
grabs onto this stuff and pisses around with it. You know - the
famous ego...I think, therefore I'm fuckin great!) This applies to
any sort of channelling: spirit, aliens, dead people, past lives..
Perhaps working in a group made it easier to cut through the ego
bullshit. My preferred past life was to have been this daring and
adventurous fighter pilot, and my imagination moved in that way,
first of all wanting to be British and then taking second best as a
German, (no offense intended, I like Germans, have lived in Germany
and happily had two german girl-friends)
however the 'facts' that came out built up a different picture, that
of an initially very gung-ho supporter of the war, who survived long
enough to realise that war was insane and that Hitler was a
tactically challenged megalomaniac in any case.
This metaphor matches up with some life values I hold, ie some meta
programmes of avoiding authority figures, seeing war as insane...
However its a chicken and egg thing isn't it
What came first the past-life experience or the values, or was it a
mixture of the two?
(refer to the Larry Dossey book mentioned earlier, so far he hasn't
mentioned past lives, rather talking about the non-reality of time on
a quantum level)
"As a metaphor I think it is great, a way for your mind to teach you
something useful."
What I said, Glen! :)
"she was actually an insect from another planet, with some difficulties
communicating."
Full on! Ever read any HP Lovecraft?
"The main thing I learnt though was why NLP gets some bad press.
A little knowledge really can be a dangerous thing."
Ah yeh, but we've gotta start somewhere
Anyone fancy a past life reading?
Just send a photo and $100, and I'll send you a tape and tell you
that you were Alexander the Great
