It is very interesting to notice the virtual themes and metaphors used within
the NLP community.
One particularly dominant theme is the notion of computers and programming.
Some people say : You can program people to achieve results and the hardware
(their body) will respond accordingly.
I really wonder what other metaphors could be used which could be more organic
in nature.
As we seem to progressing to a more digital future from a analog past the
importance of natural and organic metaphors in the world should be used as more
appropriate memes than mechanistic counterparts.
People can become very dissassociated from the world and each other by having
a
representation of people being like machines. Television is also a great way
to
dissassociate (watching massacres Bosnia, shootings, etc).
Any suggestions from the readers regarding some good organic metaphors we could
use regaring NLP. I'm presupposing we are still organic beings or are we just
Martian Robots who think we are organic?!?
I'll let you guys ponder on that one for a while ;) ...
