Re: What is Objective Reality <was Genius>
This question has been argued over by philosophers (and latterly scientists)
for centuries. Cf Bishop Berkeley, Kant, and Hume (I think).
As a pragmatist (who cares so long as it works?) it's one of the reasons I gave
up philosophy at university. Actually that's not quite true - what tipped the
balance was the realisation that they were all using the same words but giving
them different meanings and therefore could not reach a conclusion because they
hadn't agreed on what the debate was about. (But they didn't mind so long as
the suckers bought their books & paid their grants).
Oops! apologies to any academics in the audience who now feel upset by that :-)
