As a person who has meditated for 15yrs using a technique that  IMO is
similar to TM. I can forsee no danger of useing TM if you are mentally
"stable" (read: "not psychoticly scitzophrenic)

TM and any other meditation is all about paying attnetion to thoughts.
Why would one want to not pay attention to what they are thinking?

Yeah, so take it *really* seriously. If you're enjoying something (like
Life) you are having too much fun.
